Thank you for joining me today for the Meet the Author/ Interview with a Character Blog Hop.
I'd like to start by telling you a little bit about myself. I've been actively writing since 2008, but before then I wrote many unfinished novels. The discarded manuscripts were all contemporary romances. I loved historical romances, and read more of those than anything else, but for some reason I felt I should begin with contemporary. After my second child was born, I got that writing feeling again and decided to write what I loved- historical romances.
I wrote more than I ever had before and finished 90,000 words in three months. That was when I realized I had found my genre. After that, I quickly began a second manuscript and followed it with His Perfect Bride. This book concept began with the idea of having a more modern thinking woman in the 1800s. The first scene that came to me, and inspired the book, was when Brianna met Richard on the terrace.
Today I have an interview with Brianna to share with you. Keep in mind that this interview was recorded after her first meeting with Richard, the hero of the His Perfect Bride.

JENN: Hello, Lady Brianna, thanks for coming in today.

BRIANNA: I’m honored with the opportunity to speak with you.

JENN: I understand you are taking part in your first season in London. Are you having a good time?

BRIANNA: Certainly. The parties are quite enjoyable, and I have met a great amount of interesting people.

JENN: Anyone stand out above the rest? A man perhaps?

BRIANNA: Well, there was one gentleman.

JENN: Judging by your bright red face, he must be something. Tell me about him. What does he look like?

BRIANNA: He is something to behold. Hair the color of molten chocolate, and eyes so blue the sky is put to shame. His face was perfectly chiseled by a master. Combined with broad shoulders and a solid muscular body, I can't imagine there is a woman alive who could resist him.

JENN: Do you think he's the one for you?

BRIANNA: I'm not sure at this point. We've only just met, but when we touched, it felt like lightning striking me. Every inch of my body sizzled and burned, leaving me wanting for more. When we kissed I... Well, I have never experienced such a feeling before.

JENN: Wait a minute. You kissed him? I thought you said you just met.

BRIANNA: It was necessary. I very well couldn't have allowed him to speak, we would have been overheard, so I did what I had to. And I must say, I don't regret it for a moment.

JENN: Do you think you'll be sharing more kisses?

BRIANNA: I can't be sure, but I do hope to see him again. I would like the opportunity to determine if he would be a suitable match for me.

JENN: We only have time for one last question. How would you describe the man of your dreams?

BRIANNA: I would like a gentleman who presents himself well. One who doesn’t need to fill silences with his own voice. And, most importantly, he must be willing to submit to my every whim. Oh, and I must add one more item, looking like Mr. Richard would only further compliment his other attributes.

Thank you for joining me and Lady Brianna today. I hope you enjoyed an insight into her life. If you’d like to find out more about her, check out His Perfect Bride, available on Amazon.
Don’t forget to check out the other authors on the blog hop for a chance to become better acquainted with them and their characters. Also, you can enter below for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card just mention the codeword: Bride. Happy reading!

Give some seasoning to your seasons

8/1/2013

The change of season is something I look forward to. Each one has advantages as well as disadvantages. By the end of the season, I am outweighed by the disadvantages, and ready to start the next one. However, from what I've heard, most people feel the opposite. Sitting in the summer, you've accustomed yourself with the disadvantages, and they don't seem so bad compared to the horrors of the next season.
So, I implore you, put a little seasoning in your season. Worried about windstorms in the fall? A little butter on, well anything, will weigh you down, allowing the wind to propel you forward, not carry you away. Not looking forward to the biting cold in winter? No problem, season your hot chocolate with some cayenne pepper to spice, and heat, you up. Disappointed with the possibility of a rainy spring? Sprinkle salt on your watermelon to dry your mouth and give you a taste for the rain. Terrified of the hot summer? A little sugar on a lemon will offer a bright treat in the heat.
The change will come, so add a little seasoning and enjoy!
